Tips and Tricks for Stencilling Fondant with Lustre Dust
Let’s Add Some Shine to Your Stencilling!
Ready to level up your fondant game? This simple step-by-step guide shows you how to roll perfectly even fondant, stencil like a pro, and add a gorgeous pop of lustre using your LissieLou tools. It’s easier than you think — and the results are seriously satisfying!
STEP 1:
Knead your fondant until smooth, soft, and pliable. Lightly dust your surface using a LissieLou Cornflour Dusting Pouch to prevent sticking.
STEP 2:
Place your LissieLou Thickness Guides either side of the fondant. Using a rolling pin, roll the fondant evenly until the pin runs smoothly over the guides.
✨ This ensures a perfectly even thickness every time — ideal for stencilling.
Step 3:
Lay your LissieLou Stencil on top of the fondant, making sure it’s straight. Gently roll a rolling pin over the top of your stencil so they the fondant starts coming through the gaps and held firmly in place.
👉 This creates a clean, shallow impression and helps stop lustre from bleeding under the stencil.
Step 4:
In a small palette, mix LissieLou Lustre Dust with a few drops of rejuvenator spirit or clear alcohol until you reach a smooth, paint-like consistency.
Step 5:
Using a LissieLou 20FR paint brush, gently apply the lustre over the stencil using light dabbing or sweeping motions.
✨ Build colour slowly — thin layers give the best, cleanest finish.
Step 6:
Carefully lift the stencil straight up while the lustre is still slightly wet to reveal a crisp, professional design.
