Mother's Day - An Easy Guide to using our Cookie Cutters, Stamps and Embossers
Welcome to our first ever blog post! We are here to bring you a whole lot of LissieLou baking inspiration, easy how-to’s and top tips from some of the best bakers around.
During such a turbulent time for many, we know that celebrating special occasions is more important now than ever, so we are kicking things off with a simple guide to using our Mother’s Day cutters, stamps & embossers. As a special treat we would like to offer our first time readers a 10% site wide discount code: LISSIELOUISE10 (this code will be valid for 48 hours).
Each of our decorative designs has the option of a corresponding cutter to really make your creations stand out. The team have been so excited to launch all of these new designs, although one of our favourite designs has to be 'Mummy' in Verity Font. We really love how elegant it is.

So, whether you are looking to add beautiful cookies to your bakery menu or simply trying them as a fun lockdown activity, we have created an easy guide to get you started. Just follow the tips below and you'll have fabulous cookies in no time.
Easy guide to using our Cookie Stamps and Embossers
Bake.
First things first, choose a sugar cookie recipe that holds it's shape during baking (we have a blog coming soon to give you the perfect recipe for this) and doesn’t spread. Once you have baked your cookies; prepare, colour and roll out your fondant/sugar paste.
Stamps. To use our stamps, press the stamp down (with the design facing down) using even pressure onto the fondant, and then lift the stamp off. This should leave a clear impression of the stamp. Use the corresponding cutter to finish making the edible topper.
Embossers.
There are a couple of ways to use our embossers. One is to place the embosser on top of your rolled out fondant and then roll over the top of the embosser with a rolling pin using even pressure. Remove the embosser to reveal the design and then use the cutter to finish.
Top Tips. Dust your stamps / embossers with cornflower before use and then allow your fondant designs to air-dry a little before transferring onto the cooled cookie; this will help to keep the shape of the design looking sharp. Then use a food safe paint brush to remove any crumbs etc. before finishing off with any extra special decoration, such as gold leaf, sprinkles or edible paints. The decoration is by far our favourite part, so be sure to let your imagination run wild!
